Girls are back

Had a great time at Camp Whidbey.
Both enjoyed their trips. Brenna wishes she could stay longer.

Back to the mommy-job. Tomorrow is the Gus Macker and of course, Peyton is on a team. They are the Germantown Hills Smack Jammers....that's their team name. I'll post pictures as I can.

Movie Review

Last night Scott and I went to a movie...1408 with John Cusack and Samuel Snakes-on-a-Plane Jackson. It was based on a Stephen King novel Room 1408. It was classic King with foreshadowing and all the suspense one can handle without running out of the theatre screaming. As we were leaving the theatre, I told Scott, "That was messed-up." He agreed. But it was a good kind of "messed-up." Unbelievably excellent acting on the part of John Cusack. I'd even say Oscar-worthy, but he's been in my "top five of Oscar-worthy actors" for years, so I admit, I'm biased. Scott also admitted, this was a role tailor-made for an actor like Cusack (creepy, dark, moody, and yet articulate enough to be a complete smart-ass.) After watching it, you just knew he owned that character, no one else could've portrayed it the way Cusack did. No one.

Would I recommend it as a must-see in a theatre kind of movie...or wait until video?
I am honestly stumped on that one. If you're the kind of movie-goer that likes the high drama and suspense King is known for, it can only be viewed in the theatre...big screen. At one point there was what appeared to be blood running out of the cracks in the walls (in Room 1408) and both Scott and I had to glance behind us because it sounded like it was trickling out of the wall behind us in the theatre, so audio tracks were excellent...if you have surround sound, this is the perfect movie.

If you just like good acting, then this is a definate video rental. Without a doubt, RENT IT.

So I guess to answer my question, it depends on what you're in the mood for.

It's been a couple of weeks

I looks like July 2nd was the last time I posted to the blog.
Peyton finished soccer camp and then both girls flew out to Seattle/Whidbey Island to stay with Grandma and Grandpa (Rod and Sylvia)...it's been quiet around the house.

I'm looking for the camera card to download some pictures. I might work on that tonight.

Weekend update

Not much to report. Brenna still has to wear the long cast another week. It's looking like this Friday 7/6 is the day she gets the short cast.

Weekend provided us an opportunity to catch-up at home and to spend some time relaxing. It was nice to not have to be somewhere for once.

Later!
